🐾 A Momma’s Chance to Rest and Heal
It is not easy being a mother on the street. Every meal is a question mark, every sound a threat. Yet somehow, some cats keep showing up, again and again, like they know where kindness lives.
This momma cat had been drifting through Irma’s neighborhood in David for a while. She would appear, eat what Irma left out, and disappear again. No one could get close. No collar, no name, just another cat trying to make it through another day. This was her third litter. No one knows what happened to the others, except for one kitten Irma managed to keep last time. Kirsten helped sterilize and vaccinate that kitten, one small victory in an endless tide of need.

Then something changed. Maybe momma was tired. Maybe she just knew Irma was safe. This time, she stayed. Irma caught her and her four tiny kittens, fragile and blinking at the world for the first time. When Kirsten heard, she told Irma, “Keep them safe. I’ll cover what they need.”
Food. Litter. Puppy pads. Vet care. Whatever it takes to give them a chance.
It is not fancy work, but it is real. Together they made a plan to sterilize momma and the kittens once they are old enough. The cycle stops here.
Being a feral momma cat means living on instinct. You fight, you hide, you hope for scraps. But this time, things are different. For the first time, momma does not have to do it alone.

💙 Donations to Kirsten Cares For Cats keep stories like this going. They turn survival into something softer. A full belly. A warm place to rest. A chance at peace.
