A Week in Cat Rescue | Kirsten Cares For Cats

Cat-alog Blog: A Week in Cat Rescue

Some weeks in rescue are quiet. This was not one of them.

It began with an abandoned momma cat and her kitten from a previous litter. Eider reached out after finding them left behind at an elderly neighbor’s home. She offered to foster but had nothing else. No food. No supplies. No vet care. It was suspected the momma was pregnant again, and that fear quickly became reality. She gave birth to four more kittens. Today, this growing family is safe and fully in the care of Kirsten Cares For Cats. With help from donors and transportation provided by Maxi Bellringer Andrews, they received the support they needed to start over.

Another call came from Jacky, who had rescued a badly injured cat named Anis after she was attacked by a pack of dogs. Anis arrived terrified, wounded, and refusing care. But Jacky did not give up. With patience, love, and proper veterinary treatment provided through Kirsten Cares For Cats, Anis slowly began to heal. What started as trauma and fear turned into a success story made possible by persistence and donated medical care.

Anis is safe and recovering from her dog bite.

While rescues happen one by one, there are also places where help never stops. At the Feria feeding station, the cats wait every morning for Patricia Caballero to arrive with food. This has been a feeding station for years. Every cat has been sterilized, and Kirsten Cares For Cats continues to provide their meals. Requests for help from local offices were denied, so the responsibility remains with the rescue. On the other end of the Feria, more cats are cared for by fellow rescuer Martha Beatriz Miranda, working quietly to make sure none are forgotten.

This is what a week in cat rescue looks like. Abandoned families. Injured survivors. Feeding stations that rely on consistency and compassion. None of it is simple, and none of it happens without support.

Kirsten Cares For Cats keeps showing up. For the mommas. For the injured. For the cats waiting every morning for food. And with continued support, the work goes on.

💙 Every donation helps turn another hard week into one with hope.
